About me

I am Steve Bachman. I tattoo realism and surrealism in Long Beach, California, in opaque black and grey and in bright color. Most of my work is large scale and custom: sleeves, back pieces and leg pieces designed as one composition around the person wearing them.

I spent six months tattooing and training in São Paulo, Brazil. That time changed how I approach color saturation, contrast and how a design has to be built if it is going to hold together for decades rather than months.

The way I work is straightforward. You bring me your idea, your references and your placement. I take those pieces and turn them into a design that follows the flow of your body. If you have an idea you cannot quite put into words yet, that is normal, and that is what the consultation is for.

I do not do fine line work, flash designs or piercings. I would rather send you to the right artist than take on work that is not mine to do.
